渡邊慎二郎
渡邊慎二郎は、人間の中には動物的な性質だけでなく、植物的な性質があると考え、サウンドや映像、あるいは一緒に散歩をしてみるというといったパフォーマンス的な方法を通して、植物とのコミュニケーションの仕方を模索します。
今回はサウンドを通して、植物との対話の可能性を試みるインスタレーション作品と、植物と移動する人々が集う電車内を捉えた映像作品を展示します。
植物との新しい対話方法を提示することで、生物あるいは無生物との共生の仕方を再考する彼の作品は、世界をより広く、深く理解していくための一助となるはずです。
Shinjiro Watanabe
Shinjiro Watanabe explores both animalistic and plant-like traits present in human beings. Through sound, video, and performances, such as walking among plants, he explores ways to communicate with plants.
In this exhibition, he will exhibit an installation work that experiments with the dialogue with plants through sound, and a video work that features the inside of a train crowded with people moving with plants.
By proposing a new way to interact with plants, his works, which rethink the way we coexist with living beings and even inanimate objects, should contribute to a broader and deeper understanding of the world.
