遠藤薫
土地の歴史や文化、生活についてのリサーチをベースに、インスタレーションを制作しています。出展作は、2020年に青森公立大 国際芸術センター青森にて発表された作品を再構成したものです。画家の山下清の「みんなが爆弾なんかつくらないで きれいな花火ばかりつくっていたら きっと戦争なんて起きなかったんだな」という言葉を起点に、古い着物などから津軽裂織で仕立てたパラシュートと映像は、過去の出来事と現在が繋がっていることを想起させます。
Kaori Endo
Kaori Endo is known to research specific areas and their history, cultures and ways of life. She then creates installations based on her research. She exhibits a reconstructed work originally unveiled in 2020 at the Aomori Contemporary Art Centre run by Aomori Public University in Aomori. She was inspired by the words of an artist, "If people made pretty fireworks instead of bombs there wouldn't have been any wars." and created this parachute and video, which suggest that events of the past and the present are connected. The parachute is made of Tsugaru Sakuri textile woven with yarn taken from old kimono.
