存在の記録や保存が可能な素材としてガラスを用い、空間と身体の相互関係の中から生まれる空間における“微かな親しみ”を探求しています。
今回は内部にライトを付したフレームに収められたガラス作品を展示します。
植物を挟んで焼成されたガラスの内部には、植物の内包する水分やミネラル等の物質によって気泡が発生します。同じ植物でも採集する土地などの違いにより含有されるものは異なるため、その表情は一つとして同じものはありません。
また、植物の持つ意味や用法は土地によって異なるため、同作はそうした文化と植物とのつながりをも保存しているのです。

Rui Sasaki uses glass as a material capable of recording and preserving existence, exploring the subtle intimacy that emerges within the interplay between space and the body.
In this exhibition, she showcases glass artworks enclosed in frames with internal lighting.
The glass, fired with plants between layers of glass, has bubbles inside it, influenced by the moisture and minerals within the plants. The same plant may contain different substances depending on the land where it is collected, resulting in each piece being unique.
Moreover, as the meaning and uses of plants vary from place to place, these works also effectively preserve connections between diverse cultures and plants.
